          Frequently Asked Questions - 2

  - How do I set up an account?
Please contact our sales department (503-257-0513) and request a new customer packet. You will receive a Service Agreement, Credit Information form, and Power of Attorney form. Complete and return all three to TLR Sales; PO Box 30419; Portland, OR 97294.

  - Is there a size limit on air freight?
For "lower deck" shipments on "wide-body" aircraft, it is recommend that pallets be no more than 63" in height. For shipments on 747 "freighters", pallets may be no more than 118" in height.

  - What are "Incoterms"?
The global economy has given businesses broad access to markets all over the world. However, differences in language, customs, and culture can result in misunderstandings and costly disputes when sales contracts are not clearly drafted. Incoterms are the official International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules for the interpretation of trade terms. Referencing Incoterms in a sales contract clearly defines the parties' respective obligations and responsibilities, thereby reducing the risk of legal complications and damaged business relationships. For a summary of the current Incoterms, check out the ICC's wall chart (required Adobe's Acrobat reader to view).

  - Can I ship hazardous goods?
Probably. However, a variety of special circumstances surround the shipment of dangerous goods making it nearly impossible to answer directly. Fortunately, TLR is a highly qualified forwarder for hazardous goods shipments. Because we handle these special shipments on a daily basis, you get access to representatives who have up-to-date knowledge and experience as well as bulk-rate pricing.
